Mankatha broke all box office records which was released on August 31st on the occasion of Eid (Wednesday), with Vinayaka Chaturthi falling the next day. The whole 5 day week end crowd made the film to get into huge heights.
The film not just had a good opening in Tamilnadu, India, but also got good collection at the UK box office. Despite some competition from English and Bollywood movies, it is said that Mankatha was at 15th place at the UK Box Office in its first weekend. The only other Indian movie that was featured in the list was Salman Khan’s Bodyguard which was also released on the same day.
Mankatha is doing good business not only in the UK Box Office but in other countries like Singapore, Malayasia, US, etc. Ultimate star Ajith also have a good fan in Singapore and Malaysia resulting to a good response.

The film with a huge star cast of Ajith, Trisha, Arjun, Vaibhav, Premgi, Anjali, Andrea, Lakshmi Rai, Mahut, Jayaprakash was directed by Venkat Prabhu and has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Mankatha is the 50th film of Ajith Kumar. It is reportedly nearing Rs 40 crore marks at the overall Box Office collections.
