One of the prominent theatres of
Chennai 'Kamala' Theatre was inaugurated in 1972 by
Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and owner himself. The first film to be filmed there was
'Sange Mulangu'. The theatre was renovated and re-opened recently before couple of days with
Kamal Haasan, Vivek, Vijay, Manorama, Napoleon and versatile
politicians taking part in it. Speaking on the occasion,
Kamal Haasan said that during this time where theatres are shut down and remodeled into
shopping malls, it's a bold attempt by Kamala Theatre Groups as they've made single
screen in 2 theatres.
